This project involves the construction of a residential building with a commercial area and a space dedicated to the public transport company (TEC). The project is located on the corner of a block just in front of the Guillemins train station and enjoys high visibility. Its contemporary design aims to contribute to the new image of the «station hub».
The volumetry of the project fits harmoniously into the existing urban fabric, respecting the dimensions of neighboring buildings that vary between small-scale on Paradis Street, and larger buildings on the Place des Guillemins. Part of the building also overhangs over the public space. It forms a foreground to the higher floors, which appear visually set back, in order to maintain a more human scale towards the urban space.
To fit in with its urban context, the facade also features openings with a similar rhythm and scale to those of historic buildings, as well as a ground-floor base that stands out from the rest of the facade, in the manner of traditional buildings on the left and right.
